Application of Thermal Imaging by ThermoEcology:
The thermal revolution is progressively revealing more and more revelations about tree physiology and ecology, and I hope the information we have published in articles within essentialARB and Forestry Journal have provided you with an increasing understanding of how it works.
We firmly believe that the introduction of themography into the worlds of arboriculture & ecology is truly innovatory and as such we are only beginning to understand the true potential of this technology. We are on a journey of discovery exploring the frontiers of arboriculture and ecology.
As a business we have been involved in the application of this technology with trees since its inception over eight years ago in Italy. One of the key relationships in our journey, and one that remains strong today, is that with Nottingham University / Trees Project Ltd, who have development software, which allows the quality interpretation and analysis that is needed to assess the physiological functionality of trees. Meanwhile we are pioneering its use to observe wildlife.
ThermoEcology work with the assured knowledge that the technology has been tested on over 35,000 trees (15,000 commercially) and confidence continues to grow as this number increases with more and more sites and clients seeing the benefits and adopting the technology as a ‘must have’ assessment tool. Blenheim palace, Windsor Great Park, Woburn Abbey, North Somerset Council & National Trust are just a few of the clients who have realised the opportunity and adopted the use of thermal imaging to assess their tree populations.
I am sure like us, once you have digested the articles and case studies, you will be as keen as us to exploit this technology to further enhance the quality service that you supply your clients, and increase your own knowledge of informed tree care.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to go over any of the content, discuss your contract needs or you are simply looking for a demonstration of the technology, either way we will be glad to share something we are rather proud of.
Yours sincerely
Andrew Cowan
